It represents approximately 1,000 companies\u2014many of which are family-owned\u2014that deliver <strong>heating oil, motor fuels, GNR, wood pellets<\/strong>, and heating services to end consumers throughout France. <\/p>\n<p>Contrary to the image of major oil companies, FF3C members do not refine or explore for oil. They are wholesalers and mid-sized companies that deal directly with customers: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>carriers<\/li>\n<li>public works<\/li>\n<li>government agencies<\/li>\n<li>farmers<\/li>\n<li>individuals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cWe are companies dedicated to supplying energy to local communities,\u201d summarizes Emmanuel Ampaud. \u201cThe entire region is crisscrossed by companies capable of delivering a few liters of fuel\u2014whether GNR or diesel\u2014to the end consumer. \u201d At FOUR DATA, we see the extent of this <strong>regional network<\/strong> with every deployment: our sensors are installed in everything from regional depots to <strong>isolated storage tanks in rural areas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-3 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\" style=\"--awb-margin-top-small:0px;--awb-margin-right-small:0px;--awb-margin-bottom-small:20px;--awb-margin-left-small:0px;\" id=\"toc_Parcours_Emmanuel_Ampaud\"><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left\" style=\"margin:0;\">From the Field to the Presidency: Emmanuel Ampaud&#8217;s Journey<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-6\"><p>Emmanuel Ampaud\u2019s career began far from Burgundy. After attending business school, he went on a work assignment to Argentina at <strong>Total Austral<\/strong>, a Total subsidiary specializing in exploration and production. Upon his return, rather than joining one of the major Parisian corporations, he chose to work for the family business in Dijon. \u201cI came for a few months, just to try it out. As it turns out, I\u2019ve been here for twenty-five years now.\u201d   <\/p>\n<p>Over the past twenty-five years, <strong>Piretti Energies<\/strong> has kept pace with market changes: from coal to heating oil, then on to fuels, <strong>biofuels<\/strong>, and wood-based energy. The company expanded its heating maintenance and installation services before acquiring Nord-Est Climatisation and Nord-Est \u00c9nergie in Dijon, both specialists in <strong>heat pumps<\/strong>. This diversification is representative of what most French distributors are experiencing.  <\/p>\n<p>Emmanuel Ampaud joined the FF3C\u2019s executive committee about twenty years ago and held nearly every position there before being elected <strong>president<\/strong>. \u201cThe FF3C has given me so much. I figured it was time to try to give something back, in my own small way.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-4 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\" style=\"--awb-margin-top-small:0px;--awb-margin-right-small:0px;--awb-margin-bottom-small:20px;--awb-margin-left-small:0px;\" id=\"toc_Prix_des_carburants\"><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left\" style=\"margin:0;\">Fuel Prices: Protecting Customers Without Sacrificing Retailers<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-7\"><p>In response to soaring prices, the president of the FF3C is <strong>fighting on two fronts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The first issue concerns customers. The union participates in government meetings and calls for <strong>support measures<\/strong>: farmers have received substantial aid since May, while, according to the union, transporters continue to receive insufficient support. <\/p>\n<p>The second issue concerns the <strong>distribution companies<\/strong> themselves. Rising prices are straining cash flow and automatically increasing the <strong>risk of non-payment<\/strong>. The FF3C has long been calling for the ability to recover <strong>excise taxes<\/strong> in cases of permanent non-payment\u2014an issue that has been stalled for years, but for which a window of opportunity may finally be opening.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-8\"><div class=\"fd-callout fd-callout-myth\">\n<p><strong>Myth vs. Reality<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Myth:<\/strong> Retailers are \u00abprofiting\u00bb from the price crisis.<br \/>\n<strong>Fact:<\/strong> Studies show the opposite\u2014 <strong>distribution margins<\/strong> tend to decline when prices rise. This is a point that even Jean-Marc Jancovici has highlighted, noting the proportion of taxes in the price at the pump compared to the marginal share accounted for by distribution. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-9\"><p>This pressure on cash flow has a direct impact on operators: every <strong>unnecessary delivery<\/strong> and every <strong>underloaded route<\/strong> costs more than before. The industry\u2019s solution is called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biofioul.info\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>bio-heating oil<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>F30, which contains <strong>30% rapeseed esters<\/strong>, is the mandatory fuel for new boilers installed since July 1, 2022. The distributor is becoming <strong>a multi-energy provider<\/strong> \u2014and its need for <strong>inventory management<\/strong> is growing accordingly.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-6 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\" style=\"--awb-margin-top-small:0px;--awb-margin-right-small:0px;--awb-margin-bottom-small:20px;--awb-margin-left-small:0px;\" id=\"toc_Jaugeage_connecte\"><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left\" style=\"margin:0;\">\u00abIf we know their fuel consumption and can prevent them from breaking down, we&#8217;ve come full circle.\u00bb<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-12\"><p><strong>Digital transformation<\/strong> is taking hold in the sector, \u201cjust as AI will, and much faster than we ever imagined.\u201d Emmanuel Ampaud describes three concrete stages of this process, moving beyond abstract discourse. <\/p>\n<p>First,<strong>embedded computing<\/strong>: it has helped distributors improve delivery safety and traceability, with increasingly efficient GPS systems for drivers. Next, <strong>ERP<\/strong> systems: today\u2019s tools enable detailed queries and sales alerts directly on the customer record. Finally, <strong>connected level monitoring<\/strong> \u2014and this is where he cites FOUR DATA as an example: \u201cConnected level monitoring, whether for fuel oil tanks or pellet storage, allows us to anticipate needs and provide an absolutely unprecedented level of service to our customers.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-13\"><blockquote class=\"fd-quote\" style=\"border-left: 4px solid #1ba1dc; padding: 18px 24px; margin: 24px 0; background: #f4fafd; border-radius: 0 8px 8px 0;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0; font-size: 17px; line-height: 1.5; color: #122236;\"><em>\u00abTo be a good salesperson, you have to know your customers well.
